RE: New Grant Making Platform

The George and Fay Young Foundation has made the difficult decision to move away from its open grant making process to an invitation only application process. We are doing this so the Foundation can focus on its grantmaking priorities in a more effective and efficient manner. We anticipate this change will translate into greater levels of support for our future grantees. We also believe we can save applicants a great deal of time from preparing proposals that ultimately remain outside our philanthropic interests. We regret any negative effects such a decision may cause.

This transition to an invitation only grant making platform will take place following the Foundation’s Fall 2011 funding cycle. After September 15, 2011 the Foundation will no longer be accepting un-solicited funding proposals. We are currently in the process of adjusting our website to reflect these changes.

We wish all the organizations we have supported over the years continued success, and we look forward to remaining a vested partner in the extended funding community.
